St. Helens Pauses 2024 Non-Profit Community Grant Program
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
December 27, 2023
St. Helens, Ore. - Due to current and projected budget shortfalls, the St. Helens City Council is pausing its 2024 community grant application process. This temporary halt will help the City of St. Helens continue to pay for essential community services such as police and code enforcement, building plan review and inspections, and municipal court processes. The City Council will discuss resuming the grant program at the end of 2024 depending on the health of the City’s finances.
The St. Helens City Council normally offers an annual non-profit community grant program. The program provides a way for the City of St. Helens to support local organizations in their missions to assist the community.
The City of St. Helens will begin its budget planning process for the 2024/25 fiscal year in January 2024. The St. Helens Budget Committee will hold its first meeting on January 11, 2024, at 6 p.m. in the St. Helens Council Chambers. The first meeting will be an orientation workshop for the committee members.
