City Council Public Meeting Notices
The City Council regularly meets on the first and third Wednesdays of every month in a work session and regular session. The work sessions begin at 2:00PM and the regular sessions begin at 7:00PM. From time to time, the Council will need to meet in a special session, public hearing, or public forum which requires a special notice to the public.
Sometimes there are meetings or events where a quorum of the Council might be present. In that case, we send out a possible quorum notice. The Council does not deliberate or make decisions at these meetings/events.
These notices will be sent to the media, City Council members, City boards and commissions members, and a mass email distribution list. This webpage will contain all of these notices.
If you would like to be on the mass email distribution list or if you have any questions or concerns, please contact City Recorder Kathy Payne at kpayne@sthelensoregon.gov or 503-366-8217.
Submitting a Grievance Alleging Violation of Public Meetings Law
St. Helens meeting bodies, including the City Council and all boards and commissions, are subject to Oregon's Public Meetings Law (PML). Violations of the PML should be reported through the grievance process outlined by state law and the Oregon Government Ethics Commission (OGEC). To report a violation of the PML by a St. Helens meeting body, submit a written grievance statement to the City Recorder's Office by email at cr@sthelensoregon.gov, by mail, or in person during regular business hours (8:30am-12pm & 1-5pm) to:
City of St. Helens
City Recorder's Office
265 Strand Street
St. Helens, OR 97051
Once received, the City will initiate the process as outlined by the OGEC (see link above).
