Dance Classes
Youth Dance Classes
St. Helens Parks and Recreation is now hosting Youth Recreation Dance Classes!
Is your child ready to try dance? Maybe try a different style? Our eight-week session is the perfect time to try out new classes and new dance moves.
Classes Start the week of January 2nd:
This 8-week course will extend 9 weeks long including 8 weeks of active classes, and a one week break February 24th and 26th.
Week 1 Classes: 01/02/22-01/08/22
Week 2 Classes: 01/09/22-01/15/22
Week 3 Classes: 01/16/22-01/22/22
Week 4 Classes: 01/23/22-01/29/22
Week 5 Classes: 01/30/22-02/05/22
Week 6 Classes: 02/06/22-02/12/22
Week 7 Classes: 02/13/22-02/19/22
BREAK *NO CLASSES* : 02/20/22-02/26/22
Week 8 Classes: 02/27/22-03/05/22
Dance Teacher Lizzy Fournier has been teaching dance in our community for the last five years. She has been dancing herself since she was three years old, starting with ballet and later dancing other styles competitively. Lizzy graduated from SHHS in 2016 and has focused on dance education ever since.
The dance classes will take place at the St. Helens Recreation Center at 1810 Old Portland Rd.
Creative Movement Saturdays 12 p.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Ages walking-2 years old. This is a class for 1 youth and 1 adult participant... be prepared to have fun!
Pre-K Ballet two sessions offered: Thursdays 4:15 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. or Saturdays 12:30 p.m. - 1:15 p.m.
Ages 3-4 years old.
**Please note later start time for Pre-K Ballet on Thursdays**
Mini Ballet three sessions offered: Thursdays 5:00 p.m. - 5:45 p.m. or Saturdays 1:15 p.m. - 2 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. - 5 p.m.
Ages 5 to 7
Youth Ballet Thursdays: 5:45 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.
Ages 8-10
Beginner Ballet Thursdays: 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Ages 11-13
Pre K Ballet Saturdays 2 p.m. - 2:45 p.m.
Ages 3-4
Mini Jazz Saturdays 2:45 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Ages 5-7
Youth Jazz Saturdays 3:30 p.m. - 4:15 p.m.
Ages 8-10
Beginner Jazz Saturday 4:15 p.m. - 5:15 p.m.
Ages 11-13
Each 8 week session is $60.

Covid-19 Restrictions for City Recreation Buildings only, when we are at the School District we follow their building rules examples: Camps, Afterschool program, Basketball programs:
Recommendation to protect ourselves and others from COVID-19:
• Review the Public Health Recommendations.
• If you are unvaccinated or at risk for severe COVID-19 illness wear a mask and
physically distance from others when in crowds or large gatherings.
• If you become symptomatic (for example, have a cough, a fever or shortness of breath)
while in public, please return home and self-isolate immediately.
Please note that the times for the classes as some are 30 minutes, 45 minutes or an hour. We do this based of the ages and the attention span to have a productive class.
Refunds:
If a refund is requested toward the form of payment used at registration, a $25.00 Administrative Fee will be applied, per each registration. There will be no refunds after the first class.
