In honor of Valentine’s Day, our staff is sharing their first book loves with you for this week’s St. Helens Public Library #FeatureFriday.

National Library Week is April 19th-25th.  We will celebrate early by looking at fun and free genealogy resources available at the St. Helens Public Library with reference librarian Brenda Herren-Kenaga.

ST. HELENS, OR – The St. Helens Public Library Ukulele Orchestra invites the community to attend a birthday celebration on Saturday, February 8, at the St. Helens Public Library. This celebration is in recognition of the group’s fifth anniversary since formation in 2015.

The orchestra will give a short musical performance at 11:15 a.m. followed by birthday cake at noon. The performance will showcase the history of ukulele music through the decades.

Join us for some tunes as the Ukulele Orchestra warms up for the main event at 11:15.

11:15 – History of the Ukulele Concert
Members of the Orchestra will talk about the history of the Ukulele and perform songs from its past

12:00 – Cake is served!
Join us for a slice of birthday cake after the concert!

The St. Helens Public Library will be opening at 11:00am on Friday, January 24^th. 

On January 1st, 2020 House Bill 2509 banned the use of plastic bags in       Oregon. The St. Helens Public Library Bag Share Project gets together each month to sew reusable cloth bags. These bags are then given out to library patrons to borrow freely as an alternative to plastic and paper bags. We hope this will encourage our patrons to use re-usable bags both inside and outside the library.

We are having an interest meeting on the 14th from 3:30-4:30
