City Accepting Applications for St. Helens Planning Commission
The City of St. Helens is currently taking applications from interested persons in the community who would like to volunteer to serve on the St. Helens Planning Commission. There is one vacancy, and the term expires December 31, 2025. Full terms are for four (4) years.
Generally, this Commission meets once per month on the second Tuesday at 6:00 P.M. They may meet more often depending on what projects they are working on and what land use applications are received. The Commission was created, and members appointed by the City Council. All committees are advisory to the Council; however, the Planning Commission is quasi-judicial and has authority to make decisions on various land use matters. This Planning Commission also acts as the Historic Landmarks Commission, so an interest in historic preservation is also preferred. Their next meeting is Tuesday, October 10 at 6:00 P.M.
To learn more about the Planning Commission, please visit the City’s website. If you are interested in volunteering your time to serve on this Commission, please complete the Application for City Boards and Commissions webform available on our website. If you would like a paper application mailed/emailed to you, please contact Kathy Payne, City Recorder, kpayne@sthelensoregon.gov or 503.366.8217.
The deadline to submit an application is Friday, October 20, 2023.
