August Arts, Culture, and Conversation Event
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
August 10, 2018
St. Helens, Ore. – The St. Helens Arts and Cultural Commission is hosting their monthly Arts, Culture, and Conversation event on Saturday, August 18 from 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at the St. Helens Starbucks on Gable Road.
Arts, Culture, and Conversation is a monthly opportunity for the community to meet with Arts and Cultural Commission (ACC) members in a relaxed setting to chat about various topics related to art and culture.
The community is invited to drop by Starbucks, 2298 Gable Road, anytime between 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to talk with ACC members about August’s selected conversation topic: current and future ACC projects.
In addition to a conversation theme, the ACC is also hosting an art activity during the event. The Commission has joined The Kindness Rocks Project, a national movement of creative inspiration that believes that finding just the right message of inspiration at the right time might change everything. The ACC will have supplies on hand for people to paint rocks with designs and quotes. Painters can then hide the rocks throughout the community for others to find. The idea is to inspire strangers through randomly placed rocks. People who find the rocks can link back to the project on social media through hashtags listed on the rocks. The goal is to recruit every person who stumbles upon a kindness rock to join in the pursuit of inspiring others through random acts of kindness.
