Artists Sought for St. Helens Book Drop Beautification Project

ST. HELENS, OR – The St. Helens Arts & Cultural Commission is requesting proposals from qualified artists to paint two outdoor book drops at the St. Helens Public Library.
The Library has two book drops located near its front entrance that will be painted with a series of book spines previously voted on by the St. Helens community. A few of the book selections include “To Kill a Mockingbird” by Harper Lee, “The Hobbit” by J.R.R. Tolkien, “Charlotte’s Web” by E.B. White, “Harry Potter” by J.K. Rowling, and “Where the Wild Things Are” by Maurice Sendak.
Artists must reside in Oregon or Washington and submit a proposal to the City of St. Helens by Wednesday, January 15, 2020, at 5 p.m. Qualified artists should have hands-on experience with painting, blending, and shading on large-scale public outdoor surfaces.
