St. Helens Public Works Director Appointed to APWA Council

St. Helens, Ore. - St. Helens Public Works Director Mouhamad Zaher has been appointed to the Certified Public Works Professional (CPWP) Certification Council by the American Public Works Association (APWA) Board of Directors. The appointment is for a two-year term which begins on September 7, 2024.
APWA noted that Zaher was selected for the council appointment because of his recognized expertise in public infrastructure inspection, his standing as a CPWP, and his commitment to the CPWP certifications which include a supervision and management certification.
The CPWP Certification Council is one of APWA’s credentialing councils that provides governance over APWA’s credentialing programs, which includes establishing the governing rules and regulations. Six members serve on the CPWP council. Their mission is to promote excellence in public works leadership by advancing the knowledge and practice of public works to benefit the community, public agencies, and the profession.
APWA is a non-profit organization that represents professionals in all aspects of public works, including government and private sector throughout North America. They have more than 32,000 members worldwide.
