St. Helens, Ore. – The disability community accounts for 12 percent of the U.S. population and almost 14 percent of the population of Oregon. All Oregonians are influenced by the disability community, whether as individuals with a disability or as family members, friends, or allies of someone with a disability.

Ukulele

Ukulele Group

Saturdays, 10:30 a.m. - Noon, Auditorium

Have you ever wanted to learn to play the ukulele? 

The St. Helens Public Library Ukulele Orchestra is group that meets weekly to play. All levels of skills are welcome and special coaching is available for new ukulele players with no experience. (Someone will help you get started.)  

This is a great way to improve your ukulele skills, have some fun, and meet new friends in the community. From time to time, the group is asked to play at various venues around Columbia County.

Preschool Storytime

In this program for three- to five-year-olds and their caregivers, we pair stories, songs, and dances with scientific inquiry and artistic expression in order to support children's development and growth -- and to have fun together!

Toddler Storytime

Songs, stories, dances, wiggles, and more for two- and three-year-olds and their caregivers! Storytime is designed to support early brain development, language acquisition, and motor skill growth. Stay afterward for free play and socializing.

Baby Storytime

Caregivers with children ages six months to  two years are invited to join us for stories, fingerplays, songs, bounces, tickles, and other activities that support early brain development, language acquisition, and motor skill growth! Stay afterward for free play and socializing.

Library Installs New Microfilm Machine

St. Helens, Ore. – The St. Helens Public Library installed a new microfilm machine in October 2016 thanks to a grant from the Columbia County Cultural Coalition with additional funding provided by the Friends of the St. Helens Public Library and the City of St. Helens.
