We’re sticking with the plant theme, but this week we turn to succulents. Tie your very own hanger for a two-inch pot that contains a tiny succulent or a nest for an air plant.

Adult Summer Reading Challenge: Brass & Wire Air Plant Holders

Air plants are easy to raise and beautiful, too. They can live almost anywhere they get a bit of light. Join us to learn how to make a geometric holder for your plant, or create something cool out of wire. Air plants will be provided.

Adult Summer Reading Challenge: Upcycled Bird Feeders

We’ll be using 2 liter bottles to make birder
feeders. Lightweight, easy to refill, and made from items you can find in your recycling, these bird feeders will attract your favorite feathered friends all year long!

Adult Summer Reading Challenge: Wax Paper

Make your own waxed paper then use it for jewelry, decorative window hangings, or pastry pouches. We’ll provide the wax and paper, you bring the creativity!

Story Stroll

Take trail walk at McCormick Park and enjoy reading a picture book as you go! Pages of the book are posted at stations along the path, and our book selection will change throughout the summer.

Take and Make Kits

Each week, we'll have a limited supply of kits available that will contain all the materials you need for a fun art or science activity for kids and families. Follow us on Facebook for details or stop by on Fridays to pick one up!

A mobile recreation and library pop-up event in different city parks. Art, STEM, and physical activities for children ages 5-12 and their grownups. Any state-mandated guidance for masking, distancing, or other protocols for youth programs will be observed.
