St. Helens Public Library Has a Lot to Offer During COVID-19

What's available at the St. Helens Public Library

Did you know the St. Helens Public Library is open? They’re offering curbside service for all your check-out needs while the building remains closed, and they’re offering more than just books and movies! Here are some of the many services the Library has available for you during the pandemic:

  • Check out anything from the Library’s collection and pick up your order with minimal or no contact with Library staff using curbside service.
  • Access digital e-books and audiobooks, free music, international recipes, digital magazines, and genealogical resources- even without a regular St. Helens Public Library card! Sign up for a digital-only library card on the Library’s website.
  • The Library of Things continues to grow its collection of fun, useful, and intriguing items. The Library of Things allows patrons access to items including WiFi hotspots, board games, knitting supplies, leather punches, 3D pens, educational toys for kids, code-able robots, ukuleles, and more.
  • Pick up a take-and-make kit each week. Every Tuesday the Library offers a new hands-on activity for kids. Past take-and-makes have included code bracelets, tie dye butterflies, and Shrinky Dinks.
  • Check out the latest issues of popular magazines.
  • The St. Helens Public Library is adding new books by popular and best-selling authors each month. Check out the new books display through the front window of the Library, both fiction and nonfiction! Collections of new items and themed collections are also available on the library catalog as visual book rivers.
  • Missing something you want? Submit a purchase request and the Library may be able to get it for you.
  • Not sure what you want to read? Not able to browse the online catalog? Library staff are happy to offer suggestions based on what you enjoy.
  • Although the public computers are not available, the Library can still assist with printing needs. Contact the Library to find out more.
  • Genial Genealogists continues to have monthly meetings (now online) with a new topic each month.
  • The Library offered a successful online winter reading program. Keep an eye out for summer reading plans.
  • The Library has offered safe, socially distanced programs, including the McCormick Park Story Stroll and Nature Buddies programs offered in partnership with the Recreation Program.
  • 2020 Federal tax forms are now available! Pick up booklets and instructions for form 1040/1040-SR (los formularios también están disponibles en español.)

 
Curbside service hours are:
Tuesdays from 10 AM to 1 PM
Wednesdays from 10 AM to 1 PM
Fridays from 3 PM to 6 PM
Saturdays from 10 AM to 1 PM
