Growing Gorgeous Peonies
Tuesday, April 9, 2019 - 7:00pm
Carol Adelman will speak on planting, disease and care of peonies with photos of outstanding varieties.
The beauty of peonies remembered from childhood enticed Carol Adelman to grow peonies for others to enjoy. It was a big change after growing apples for 25 years. The original intent of local peony sales has grown to a display garden open to the public during the bloom season, 25 acres of peonies, and co-authoring a peony book. With over 500 varieties of peonies in their fields, Carol has intimate knowledge of peonies and is now also hybridizing them. Adelman Peony Gardens now ships peony blooms to florists throughout the US and peony roots internationally. Carol is on the Board of Directors for the American Peony Society and shows peony blooms at the annual APS flower competitions, winning Best of Show 7 times.
Tuesday, April 9th at 7pm in the Columbia Center auditorium.
