Altered books workshop
Saturday, January 18, 2020 - 9:00am
On January 18th, 2020, Marnita Bahmer of the Columbia Arts Guild will offer a workshop on making altered and repurposed books.
The class will focus on making accordion-style books which open to reveal the images inside. Marnita will walk participants through the process of making their own book and offer guidance throughout the creative process.
Please bring a hard cover book, metal edge ruler, scissors. Paints, glue, magazines and other fun bits will be made available.
If you need a book to work with, hardcover books are available for purchase at the library for $1, which supports the Friends of the St. Helens Public Library.
Participants are encouraged to submit their finished work to the Columbia Arts Guild’s fifth annual Altered Books display throughout the month of February.
The class is limited to 12 participants age 16 and up.
Register at the front desk, or call the St. Helens Public Library at 503-397-4544 to sign up.
