CITY OF ST. HELENS LOCAL GOVERNMENT INFORMATION

On Wednesday, April 1, the St. Helens City Council passed Resolution 1879. This resolution amends the City's initial declaration of a State of Emergency as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic which was made on Thursday, March 12. The State of Emergency is now effective so long as COVID-19 continues to pose an ongoing, immediate, and substantial threat to life, safety, health, or property in the city of St. Helens and until terminated by the City Council. Read the full resolution here. 

City staff are still working during this closure and can be reached by phone or email Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. 

There will be no disconnection of water service due to delinquent payments until further notice. 

Under the Governor's Phase 2 guidelines, 13 Nights on the River is being held as a ticketed event with a 250 guest limit.

BASIC PREVENTION AND PROTECTION

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
  • Use hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol if soap and water is not available
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick
  • Practice social distancing measures and put distance between yourself and other people. This is especially important for people who are at higher risk. 
  • Stay home if you are sick
  • Cover coughs and sneezes. Use a tissue and throw it into the trash or use the inside of your elbow if you do not have a tissue. Wash your hands immediately afterward. 
  • Clean and disinfect high touch surfaces daily, including tables, doorknobs, light switches, countertops, desks, cell phones, toilets, and sinks. 
  • Wear a face mask in public when you are not able to maintain 6 feet of distance. Masks are now required statewide in indoor public spaces.
