St. Helens Recreation Center Cold/Flu Season and Novel Coronavirus
We are doing our best to keep our staff and the children and adults that we serve happy and healthy during this flu and cold season. We have also received several questions from the community concerned about the COVID-19 outbreak.
As we do all year, we frequently disinfect the building. Children and staff have access to hand sanitizer that we encourage them to use. We promote additional hand washing and ask that our staff stays home if they are ill in order to not spread germs.
Parents - you can help too!
A few reminders:
- If your child is sick, please keep them at home. Do not send your child to Recreation Program events or any after-school programs, especially if he or she has had a fever in the past 24 hours.
- Wash your hands properly and frequently. You should wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
- Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash. Use your sleeve/elbow if you do not have a tissue.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
NOTE - Children that appear ill will not be allowed to stay on our premises. Parents will be contacted in accordance with our policies.
These are precautionary steps that we should be taking every day, not only to avoid COVID-19, but to reduce the spread of the common cold and flu.
