St. Helens Man Assaulted at Residence
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
September 24, 2019
ST. HELENS, OR – On Friday, September 20, at approximately 2:09 p.m., St. Helens officers responded to a report of an assault on Park Street in St. Helens. When officers arrived on scene, they found the victim, David Schmor, inside his residence.
The victim was transported to a Portland area hospital with non-life threatening injuries to his head and stomach area which he sustained from a reported assault by an unidentified suspect. The suspect used a knife in the attack and fled the scene prior to police arrival. He was described as male and was last seen wearing dark clothing and a mask that hid his face. A K9 unit was deployed to track the suspect. The suspect was not found.
There is no current public safety threat. The investigation is ongoing. More information will be released as it becomes available.
