Shooting Investigation Underway in St. Helens Neighborhood
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
July 3, 2019
ST. HELENS, OR -- On Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at approximately 10:15 p.m., St. Helens officers responded to a residence for a report of gunshots fired near Old Portland Road. The officers located two victims on scene that had sustained gunshot wounds. A female juvenile was also located inside the home. She was unharmed.
The suspect fled the residence prior to officers arriving on scene. He was seen leaving in a white-colored sedan. This is an ongoing investigation, and St. Helens police are working with law enforcement partners to identify and locate the suspect. There is no immediate danger to the public at this time.
Both gunshot victims were transported to a Portland area hospital and are expected to survive.
This was an isolated incident that was contained inside the residence. Extra patrols are being conducted in the area.
