Police Seek Assistance Identifying Suspect in Bank Robbery
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
July 30, 2019
ST. HELENS, OR – At approximately 4:27 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30, 2019, St. Helens officers responded to a robbery reported at the St. Helens Bank of the West, 465 S. Columbia River Highway, St. Helens.
An unidentified male approached a teller and gave the bank employee a note demanding money. No weapon was reported. The suspect fled the scene prior to law enforcement arrival.
Oregon State Police and surrounding law enforcement agencies assisted with a search of the area. Columbia County Sheriff’s Office conducted a K-9 track. Police were unable to locate the suspect. He was last seen fleeing on foot southwest toward the Legacy Clinic
The suspect is a light-skinned male, approximately 6 feet tall, in his mid-30s. He has black hair and light facial hair. He was last seen wearing a black long-sleeved shirt, black pants, sunglasses, and a desert camouflage baseball hat.
Anyone with information as to the identity of the suspect should contact the St. Helens Police Department at 503-397-1521. Do not approach the suspect. Although no weapon was used during the robbery, the suspect should be considered armed and dangerous.
