The St. Helens Police Department is a progressive and proactive law enforcement agency with an emphasis on its service to the community. In 2017, the Department became accredited through the Oregon Accreditation Alliance, insuring the highest standard of quality in law enforcement for our citizens.
The St. Helens Police Chief performs a variety of complex administrative, supervisory. and professional work in planning, coordinating and directing the activities of the Police Department. A complete job description is available below.
The St. Helens Police Department has a sworn staff of seventeen officers, one support staff member, one Code Enforcement Officer, and a part-time Evidence Technician. Our staff enjoys work in assignments in patrol, criminal investigations, Canine Officer, and School Resource Officer.
We are seeking applicants who wish to be a part of a family-oriented community with a commitment to enhancing the livability of St. Helens. There are exciting things happening in St. Helens. Come be a part of the team!
The City of St. Helens offers a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package. The base salary at step 1 is $7,324 per month and maximum salary at step 5 is $8,902 per month. This is not a union-covered position. This position is part of the City's Management Team.
