Salary
St. Helens patrol officers have a monthly base salary range of $6,775 to $8,296 depending on prior DPSST experience.

The Police Officer position is classified under the St. Helens Police Officer's Association. The City of St. Helens offers an excellent benefits package including:

- Deferred compensation program
- Two to six weeks of paid vacation (depending on experience)
- Accrued sick leave - 12 days per year
- Fully paid participation in the Oregon Public Employees Retirement (PERS) system
- Lateral rollover of up to 120 unused vacation time hours from previous employer
- 5% incentive pay for intermediate certificate through Oregon DPSST
- 10% incentive pay for advanced certificate through Oregon DPSST
- Up to 5% physical fitness incentive pay
- Health club membership benefit
