2020 Donut Day and COVID-19
Due to current COVID-19 restrictions and in order to help slow the spread of the coronavirus, the annual Police Department Donut Day fundraiser has been cancelled for 2020.
This annual fundraiser is a benefit for the Columbia Pacific Food Bank. The Food Bank is currently seeing a 65% increase in individuals needing assistance right now compared to last year. The St. Helens Police Department encourages the community to consider donating directly to the Food Bank this year.
The Columbia Pacific Food Bank appreciates monetary donations because they have five times the buying power of the average shopper. A $20 donation to the Food Bank is worth $100 when the Food Bank places an order. You can make a donation through the Food Bank’s website at http://cpfoodbank.org/help/.
The Food Bank is also accepting food donations. The top food items needed are:
- Peanut Butter
- Canned Soup/Chili
- Canned Meat (Tuna & Chicken)
- Canned Fruit
- Canned Veggies
If you have Food Bank questions, you can call their office Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 503-397-9708.
