Engineering Project: Sewer Rehabilitation

30-inch sewer line replaced behind Old Portland Road

The City of St. Helens is in the final stages of completing an extensive sewer rehabilitation project which started in May 2020. The work extended across the city and included the rehabilitation of over five hundred feet of sanitary sewer pipe and 18 manholes. The City hired contractor Black Rock Underground out of Hillsboro to complete the work.

The sewer rehabilitation project:

  • Replaced the sewer on Maplewood Drive
  • Replaced the sewer on Cedaroak Street north of Sykes Road
  • Replaced a crushed sewer pipe under the sidewalk at Highway 30 near the Village Inn
  • Repaired the 30-inch diameter sewer trunk line east of Old Portland Road across the street from McCormick Park
  • Replaced the sewer and manhole off North 18th Street and St. Helens Street
  • Rehabilitated or replaced sewer manholes on Juniper Lane, Douglas Drive, off Pittsburg Road; Umatilla Street at South 16th Street; Eisenschmidt Lane; South 8th Street at Columbia Boulevard; North 4th Street, North 5th Street, and North 6th Street at West Street; White Way; Belton Road; Edie’s Way, and South 7th Street south of Columbia Boulevard
