St. Helens Independence Day Celebration 2021
The City of St. Helens is pleased to host a 2021 Independence Day Celebration on the St. Helens riverfront Sunday, July 4, 2021 with music, vendors, and fireworks. St. Helens is home to one of the most unique fireworks locations in the region, with a display launched from Sand Island and lighting up the sky from the middle of the Columbia River.
MUSIC: Hit Machine plays on the Wauna Credit Union stage in the Columbia View Park amphitheater at 7 p.m. for a free concert leading up to the fireworks show. The outdoor amphitheater is terraced grass with stone steps. The area fills up fast. Bring your own chairs or blankets to set up in the ampitheater or on the surrounding lawn. Vendors and food carts will be located immediately behind the amphitheater on Strand Street. Find the park by using 265 Strand Street, St. Helens, OR 97051
FIREWORKS: Fireworks will take place at 10 p.m. Fireworks will be lit from the south end of Sand Island over the Columbia River this year. While the show is free to watch from many vantage points throughout St. Helens, tailgate tickets are being sold for the St. Helens waterfront property. Tailgate parking provides easy access to riverfront viewing and other central locations in St. Helens. From Highway 30, take Columbia Boulevard to South 1st Street. The tailgate entrance is at the end of South 1st Street. Tailgate ticket information can be found on the Discover Columbia County website.
PATRIOTIC EVENTS: Community groups are hosting a "Let Freedom Bells Ring" program in the Columbia County Courthouse Plaza at 1:30 p.m. The program includes a flag raising ceremony, National Anthem recital, special guest speakers, chiming of the bells, car show, and a band. More information about these festivities can be found on the Discover Columbia County website. Use 230 Strand Street, St. Helens, OR 97051 to find this location.
PARKING: Purchase tailgate tickets for the closest, easiest access to all St. Helens Independence Day events. This area is one of the best locations to view the fireworks show in St. Helens. Tickets are available for purchase online before this event on Ticketleap. PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL OF AREA RESIDENTS. The St. Helens Riverfront District is surrounded by residential neighborhoods and on-street parking fills up fast during the day. We strongly encourage you to purchase tickets to the tailgate area and arrive early to ensure that you are parked in time to enjoy the festivities.
FOOD: Food cart vendors will be located at this event on Strand Street. You can also take advantage of several restaurants, pubs, and breweries located on Strand Street, Cowlitz Street, and South 1st Street, all within one block of the tailgate area and Columbia View Park.
RESTROOMS: There are public restroom facilities located on Strand Street above the Columbia View Park amphitheater. Portable toilet stations will also be located in several areas throughout the event.
