Independence Day Celebration 2022
The City of St. Helens is hosting an Independence Day: Salute to America celebration on the St. Helens waterfront Monday, July 4, 2022. With the participation of community groups, events include live music, fireworks, a flag raising and national anthem ceremony, bell ringing, and more.

TRAFFIC IMPACTS: Expect heavy traffic in the Riverfront District area from about 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. on July 4. Street closures in this area will be in place for most of the day.
What do you need to know to prepare?
- The Plaza Square and Strand Street in the St. Helens Riverfront District will be closed on Monday, July 4 for events (same traffic closures as 13 Nights on the River)
- St. Helens police officers will be conducting traffic control at key intersections after the fireworks show. Please drive safely and watch for pedestrians while leaving the Riverfront District
- Parking on city streets is free. Please be respectful if you park around residential areas
- There is an option to pay to park in the tailgate area. Ticket sales help pay for the fireworks show. The tailgate area is on the St. Helens Riverfront Property. This is the closest view of the fireworks and immediately next to the day’s events. Set up your tailgate area and enjoy the day! The parking entrance is at the end of South 1st Street.
