Historic Preservation Rehabilitation Grant
As a Certified Local Government (CLG), a designation given to St. Helens from the National Parks Service in January of 2009, the City has access to certain grant funds. One use of those funds is to pass on that money to citizens to help preserve their federally recognized historic buildings. The City has a federally listed St. Helens Downtown Historic District which makes some of the designated properties eligible for funding. The links below provide information about the active City’s Historic Preservation Rehabilitation Grant program.
The City's 2023-2024 CLG grant cycle is officially open. The deadline for submitting a grant application and all supporting documentation is July 24, 2023. A hardcopy of the grant application and required attachments must be submitted to City Hall at 265 Strand Street and by email to jdimsho@sthelensoregon.gov.
This is funded by a Federal apportionment to Oregon via the National Parks Service (NPS) as administered by the Oregon State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO).
